the Pincushions have been writing, recording, and performing music since forming in 1995. Their music blends textured guitar hooks, pop perfect harmonies and seductive grooves that have been electrifying audiences in the Boston music scene and throughout the Northeast.
the Pincushions completed a self released EP "Lock Lit", produced by Mike Quinn (Dragstrip Courage, Reverse) at New Alliance Studios in the Fenway. The original material was narrowed down from an extensive live repertoire performed over the past two years in Boston clubs such as the Middle East, TT the Bear's Place, The Linwood, and the Skybar, as well as at colleges and universities including Harvard, Providence College and the University of Vermont.
The Pincushions have headlined shows for the NEMO Music Showcase and Conference, Boston. NEMO is one of North America's premier music industry events, featuring 200 artists chosen from over 2000 applicants nationwide, culminating in three days of concerts and the Boston Music Awards.
The Pincushions have had Radio airplay, as well as an on air interview on WMVY's local band showcase, which featured 6 up and coming bands picked out of thousands of signed and unsigned album releases. WMVY DJ Alison Hammond, who had championed the songs on "Lock Lit" in her radio show, featured the boys' music and musings in between show sessions with the Pushstars, Jim Belushi, and Carly Simon in the station's Martha's Vineyard studio.
The Pincushions offers audiences a new, fresh experience of rock that ranges from passion and excitement to intensity and serenity. Pete Arsenault's solid rhythm guitar carves tight patterns into the songs, while Rich Brewer rips up his fret board during captivating guitar solos. Matt Fauller's precision drumming drives a hypnotic groove as Nick DeSantis makes love to the audience with his bass. Rich and Pete's intertwining harmonies permeate almost every song creating a powerful mix of intelligent and dynamic rock that leaves listeners humming in their car.
