I had started this song with myself and my son and Lyndon Heart/George Michael USA and his son in mind. But the writing bogged down. Then Michael Paul Miller tragically passed and I wanted to offer a tribute to his talent and my respects to his family. Soul inspiration helped me complete the tune. To Michael and his: Bring on the Next Set.

he next set
--
When this set is over, we'll move on off the stage
we'll pack our ax and park the bus we'll smile, sigh and turn the page
What we make is what we leave behind the rest goes to the side
If we knew back then what you know now life would still rush right by.
--

Life'll get you hooked real good then time gets you released
the full measure of each moment we hope we won't forget
the lights go down before we see em coming, bring on the next set.
--
They do it because they saw it in you and they know how because you knew
A shadow long and narrow fades as morning light come shining through
to learn means to listen that they never seemed to do
but like stain the good stuff soaked on down showing deep tones & bright hues
--
Life'll get you hooked real good then time gets you released
the full measure of each moment we hope we won't forget
the lights go down before we see em coming, bring on the next set.
--
who's that that you see? Is that him, her, or me?
who's that you hear . . . was your voice ever that clear?
first you want em to stay then you want em to go
but in the end you just want them to know
--
Life'll get you hooked real good then time gets you released
the full measure of each moment we hope we won't forget
the lights go down before we see em coming, bring on the last set.

Well, now - virtually famous - that's like a half-baked cookie, ain't it...ummm, I am a real person so I'd headline you as Maestro of the Airwaves - but, that's just lil old me - quite nearly v virtually, you know, famous, ummm stupid me , are you a Maestro? Ha! Hope to see you in-world someday...smiles.

Thanks for the kind words. It's nice to see that one man could motivate and effect so many just in this place; let alone those he personally touched in life.

I hope everyone takes a bit of Mike away from this event, and remembers how lucky we all are...

Hello Prof!
A revive is only possible once every three hours, to make sure the entire frontpage doesn't get filled with revived songs. That means that if someone has revived a song less than three hours ago you will get that error message. The three-hour period is very tight, so ideally you would know exactly when the previous revive took place, almost down to the minute. Then you start hitting the revive button a bit before the three hours are up and hope to hit the slot before someone else does. I hope that makes sense and helps :-)

I do love originals best....
the raw 'gut' emotion from the artist, spilling his soul to us...
Sad that I keep missing your SL shows.. dang real life job at library !!!

Do you advertise on Second Life music group? I need 25 more to keep up with all the talent in second life...

Keep watching for more of you .. in many places.....

Yeah, I am liking your music, putting the cover up worked as it helped me find your other stuff. :p

the Professor (level 8) wrote:

I will continue writing and bringing new originals both inworld and here on the 61. But I'm going to put up a cover and see if I can increase the # of listeners on the site. I get great support from wonderful folks here, but in comparison to many, the base needs more folks.
