The 2003 debut album The Undertone draws on a hybrid of contemporary styles; electronica, post rock and jazz. Some tracks are sample-based and many also integrate real world sounds to create a truly cinematic template reminiscent of Four Tet, Sigur Ros or Grandaddy. “You can say it all you want -- Post Rock is dead -- but that won't make it true, especially when groups like Plankton are out there making engaging instrumental music” (www.splendidzine.com) “It’s a beautiful record” (Fenella Kernebone, Triple J, Soundlab)
The 2005 mini-album, Insomnia features four different remixes by band members of the live favourite Insomnia, and four previously unreleased tracks.
Plankton producer and band member Danny Jumpertz (also on the site as Alpen) is currently mixing some new Plankton tracks.
