ROSALINE YUEN

Melbourne, Australia

about +
In 2010, Australian singer-songwriter Rosaline Yuen has been carefully crafting together her debut album 'Tiny Goddess' (a title inspired by current muse - Francoise Hardy). Her new songs, which have just the right hint of 60s girl band quirk were recorded in a little room above the Forum Theatre and at Audrey Studios in Coburg, Victoria. Behind the scenes Rosaline was supported by a group of talented and enthusiastic musicians. Rosaline had co-producer and drummer Ian Kitney (Tim Rogers, Lisa Miller), Craig Pilkington (The Killjoys, Gurrumul), Bruce Haymes (Paul Kelly) and Owen Downie , whom together played everything from the Hammond (on loan from Steve Teakle i.e. Barry Morgan) to Autoharp and Ukelele (on loan from Mick Harvey).

Rosaline has come a long way since her humble beginnings on the Melbourne music scene playing a solo gig in Fitzroy institution - Bar Open in 2005.

In 2008, Rosaline independently released her EP - Garden worldwide through her indie label thirtysixbird and Green/MGM to a wealth of glowing reviews.

2010 has been an eventful year for Rosaline Yuen, having being selected to perform on the New Music Stage at the St Kilda Festival and having her song ‘After the Show’ featured on popular Australian drama ‘Underbelly: The Golden Mile’. 2011 promises to be more exciting still with the official release of ‘Tiny Goddess’ in April.
