I was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and raised in Vancouver, Canada. When I was 9 years old, my grandmother encouraged me to pursue formal vocal training. I also became involved in various forms of dance as well as film/television acting. Despite my love for both dance and acting, music soon became my passion.

In July 2006 I received 1st runner-up in the David Foster Star Search finals in Victoria, BC with my performance of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah in front of producer/songwriter David Foster. Six months later I received a call from the Foster people with an invitation to perform Foster’s The Prayer at the Victoria Independent Film Festival, and this eventually led to another invitation in 2008 to honor the composer/musician at “An Evening of Great Canadian Achievement,” presented by The Child Foundation.

For several years I travelled to LA to work with world-renowned vocal coach Seth Riggs (Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand). This also led me to Vegas and New York to work with other Seth Riggs’ trained vocal coaches. During the summer of 2007, I worked on music with multi-platinum producer Damon Elliott (Pink, Jessica Simpson). While in Los Angeles, I was invited to perform as one of the opening acts for Ben Harper and Jackson Browne at a benefit for the Boarding House Mentors, and also for the opening night of the Seth Riggs vocal camp. North of the border, I have performed as a guest vocalist with Destino, the Canadian Tenors, and I have shared the stage with Colin James. Other performances included Room 5 in Los Angeles, the Arts Presenters Conference in New York, and opening for and touring with Destino.

Also a student at the University of British Columbia, it’s a challenge to balance the demands of my music career with exams and studying. In addition to contemporary music, I have been studying classical music since the age of 9. I have performed in French, German, Italian, Latin, and Spanish. In June 2007 I won the National Voice Category at the British Columbia Provincials, and later went on to represent British Columbia at the National Music Festival in Moncton, NB in August 2007.

I have been working on my album for the past three years. I collaborated as a songwriter on 5 of the 12 songs. When I first heard Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” I knew I had to record it. The lyrics contain scriptural references with elements of sensuality. The melody is so haunting and there is so much that can be done with it. My debut album is currently available at www.cdbaby.com/tiffanydesrosiers.
