UNION CITY

Peterborough, ON

about +
"For every jangly guitar line....there's a chiming rafter-raiser more reminiscent of U2.
Lie back and think of England"
- Darryl Sterdan, Toronto Sun

Peterborough, Ontario’s Union City released their first single “These Days” in North America on April 6th 2010 via Tinderbox Music and immediately received widespread airplay through American and Canadian college radio, cracking the top 100 in the American college radio (CMJ) charts.

Due to the success of the single in the North American college charts, and a successful mini-American tour to support it, the band signed a licensing deal with several television networks in the US (including MTV, E!TV and Oxygen Networks) in July 2010, for “These Days”, “The War”, and “The Girl Who Wasn’t There” for programs like The City (The Hills spinoff), Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Spindustry, The Bad Girls Club, and Warren the Ape, among others.

Union City played at Canadian Music Week in Toronto in March 2011, and was invited to play SXSW in Austin, Texas, but due to VISA issues were unable to make the journey. They are hoping to make it back down to the States in the near future.

In July 2011, Union City released the song "Help Me Out" as a free download from their official web site. They are currently recording for a follow up full-length release.
