well i was born a baby into a rough marriage on the rocks. that rock split and i grew up in between my parents moving from here to there around the greater L.A. area. I grew up mostly at Venice Beach with all the other crazies and i remember loved going to the beach with my dad, he'd lift me above the crashing waves by holding onto my two little hands. I had a little red bikini with my lil' pot belly stickin right out there. and you know what? i did not care! hah, i have an old picture of that.

My mom gave me piano lessons in 6th and 7th grade (my first experience with a piano had been a plastic toy hippo piano age 3, my dad taught me do a deer, a female deer...) well my mom found me the perfect teacher! Kirsten, in san diego(we lived there a couple years and then moved back to L.A.) after two years i stopped playing for at least 10 yrs. Then one day i made my roommate teach me guitar. well a few chords. i played everyday until my fingers practically bled. i wrote my first song in 3 weeks which i'll take with me to my grave!!! never play it.

kept writing, picked up the piano again a year ago, as well as the banjo! and now i play anything i can get my hands on that are related to those instruments.

it's funny cause i think i sing and write differently according to each instrument.

anyway, haven't written a song recently and i can really feel it, it hurts. BUT i'm recording so, that's okay. You gotta just fill up sometimes before you can release, especially since i write mostly by feel. i have to write a song i can be proud of, one i can sing about night after night and believe what i sing.

i now reside in the great northwest, in Oregon, and i love it here! because it's so green and smells fresh and it's beautiful! makes me happy.
