Biography

Vic Sadot is a folk singer in the tradition of Broadside, the National Topical Song Magazine, and songwriters like Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs, and Bob Dylan.

He has played original rock and blues in the Crazy Planet band since 1979. Crazy Planet released a 45 rpm called Good Time Delaware/Born To Win in 1985, and a 12 song LP called Ride the Wind in 1988. Vic’s father was a Free French fighter in the army air corps, Pyrenees mountain Resistance camps and for 5 years at sea during WWII. This French heritage led Vic to an interest in Louisiana French songs. In 1992 he formed the Planete Foll... (+) expand

Hi - I hope you made it out of Wyoming (I bet the scenery was a bit different from Delaware)! Are you coming back east any time??

There's a matrix here that takes into account the genre of the song and the number of bumps. I'd say for folk songs you need about 170 or so for it to post. I'll pass around Pat Tillman again (I did it on the 4th of July) next week when I do my usual tunebox to people with stuff that I like. I wish I could get down to Dewey Beach to see a show but I'm a little short on the long green right now (boo).

Yeah you rock man! Do you ever play in southern Ca (LA, SD)? If you do give me a shout and let's put a bill together! Here's my email cactusbobband@gmail.com I have solo stuff if you're bored. Search Ryan's tavern. -Ryan (drums)

Hey Vic,
It's great to have you on The Highway, I really enjoy the vibes I get from your music. I look forward to anything else you upload in the future. Until then enjoy the site, and enjoy a radio bump.

Original Songwriter Showcase here! Vic is a Broadside Balladeer who also plays in a Cajun/Zydeco band called Planete Folle.
Hear Bourbon Street and Nightmare of New Orleans here! Band! Vic is one of about 30 Featured Artists at www.noliesradio.org
His song tribute to Phil Ochs, Broadside Balladeer, is probably his best known song. Vic actually did a radio interview with Phil Ochs in May of 1973. Mad Cowboy Disease skewers the Neo Cons and their war policies while Ballad of Pat Tillman tells the tragic story of the millionaire football player who joined the Army Rangers after 9/11 happened. Vic interviewed World Trade Center janitor William Rodriguez to write the song about how 9/11 Truth affected his life, and Willie put the song on his web site at http://www.william911.com
Ride the Wind is heavily influenced by both Bob Dylan and the Allman Brothers. The Kidnapping Coup tells the story of the Bush-Cheney regime's overthrow of democracy in Haiti. Good Time Delaware is a Chuck Berry style boogie that celebrates the beach and calls for it's environmental preservation. You are invited to check out the YouTube videos created by Dean A. Banks!
