Vine House – Pop Pioneers Hit The Road
Vine House is a band for the future. Not only because of its penchant for foot-stomping party-loving power pop anthems, but because it has embraced a new way of engaging with its fans.
The New York four piece hits the road to play two headlining SXSW events in Austin, Texas next month with a massive online fan base already in tow. As active social networkers, the four, led by singer songwriter Mark Stancato, have built up a huge following away from their native Gotham – and it’s a following who already know just how powerful their life performances can be.
Vine House was born in 2006 after the break up of Stancato’s former indie band Exit 8. And the success of his previous project, having played the best clubs in NYC and won itself a hefty slice of radio airplay, gave him the confidence to hit the ground running with Vine House.
Stancato, ably assisted by the chunky guitar riffing of Rob Kudyba and the infectious rhythms of Jerry Loch’s bass and Matt Patterson’s drumming, set to work crafting Vine House’s debut album – ‘Young Regret’.
The record was a progression from Exit 8’s raw aggression and saw Stancato truly hone and perfect his songwriting craft.
Stancato has a taken a more considered and thoughtful approach to his new project. It is a reflective and intelligent record, yet still retains the pop sensibility that throbs through its creator’s veins.
‘Killer on the Road’ is darker and edgier but will still have you grooving away, while ‘Mrs Wallington’ showcases the more mature side to Stancato’s talents.
However, it is the live stage where Vine House truly comes alive. Infused by new tracks like ‘High Maintenance Girl and ‘Billy Robbins’, Stancato and his band have an energy and buzz that is hard to replicate and impossible to fake.
That is why their live shows have attracted so much attention and why their audience just keeps growing. That is also why the music gaming website Stereofame.com jumped at the chance to get them on the tour bus and over to Austin.
The band will take the stage at The VORTEX on March 21 as part of a showcase of new talent during the SXSW music festival, with an intimate warm-up show at the Ruta Maya Coffee House on March 20. Both shows are not to be missed…
Meanwhile, keep up with the band – in real time - on tour on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube from anywhere in the world.
