"Voiceks Voiska" were the first ones in Latvia to play ska music and still is the best known ska band in Latvia. Formed under a name "Voiceks" as a solo project of lead singer Jourelis the band is around from year 1993. In 1998 band began to experiment with ska music, adding horn section and soon changing its name to "Voiceks Voiska".

Band released their long awaited self-released first album "Konvojs" in year 2004, and a follow-up "Augšā strādā" is to be released in 2010. The song "To nevar darīt šeit" was also featured in the "Pork Pie" compilation "United Colors of Ska vol 4.0".

The most distinctive features of the band is that they sing mostly in Latvian, and that they constantly mix different styles of ska with all kinds of other influences from Russian rock music to Latino beats to hard rock, creating unique vibes and a strong tongue-in-cheek feel about their music.
