World Versus Me, a hybrid of rock combined with orchestral and electronic influences melds aspects of modern music with the raw, emotional human elements of pre-digital-era rock. The brainchild of David Alvarez, a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, performer, programmer, producer and visual artist from Los Angeles, World Versus Me creates a new sound combining different genres in a unique way.

2011: World Versus Me’s “Evil” featured in promos for “Degrassi: In Too Deep” (Teen Nick) “Duel” featured in the official trailer for “inFAMOUS 2: Duality” Trailer (Sony Computer Entertainment), “Duel” is also featured in “The Wild Within: Off the Grid Alaska” on the Travel Channel, the song "Last Day of the Sun" can be heard in the hit show "Auction Hunters" on Spike TV. World Versus Me can also be heard in the promos for the show “Being Human” on the SyFy Channel. Appearing in Alternative Revolt Magazine as one of the new up and coming bands to look out for in 2011. World Versus Me’s “Transference” included in a compilation for “Songs of Love for Japan” which features Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco and more for Japan tsunami relief.

2010: World Versus Me’s “Into Nothing” wins Heineken Ultimate Playlist with most downloaded song.
2009: World Versus Me won the Wonka Battle of the Bands hosted by trueAnthem beating Brokencyde and Metal Sanaz backed bands such as Godhead by 10s of millions of points in a contest that garnered 33 million impressions in total. The competition consisted of many up-and-coming bands, some of which are already touring in the Warped Tour.
2008: Engl Amps endorsed David Alvarez and promoted this endorsement in music magazines across Europe, including the largest music magazine in Germany, “Rock Hard”. WVM EP “Deus Ex Machina” began radio play on regular rotation on XM Radio’s “Squizz channel.” World Versus Me (Then as Shaolin Temple of BooM) beat 2 signed bands in Echotren and 36crazyfist for artist of the month on 525 Powertracks.com.
