To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

Thank you for being a part of it.

I absolutely love that two tracks I hold very dear to me are on your frontpage. RB "Black Water" by Fatblueman, one of your discoveries! Quite a few of us are on hypem. Do come at your leisure. Bon voyage.

Yardbird - your support and encouragement has been a blessing. My wish for these sounds is that they might help someone get through rough times or just relieve a bit of their burden for a moment or two. I'm honored by your words and know that in a mysterious way we are kindred spirits. I'm am grateful to have had the opportunity to share and express.

Unlike most that frequented this website, this was my only source for music since radio went digital and I'm stuck with an expensive hifi system without radio.
I'm glad Rey Gamba tipped me off back in the days when this was the newest hype, nearly 10 years ago now. Never expected to find so much good music and sad that so much is likely nog to be heard by the masses.
Thanks for being a co-listener and inspiration, I wish you all the best and good health.
Ciao Birdy!

Thank you for being part of what made this place as special as it was. And if anyone ever contacts you with a movement to buy and revive this site, please let me know. I would be happy to support such an effort. I would love to see what could happen if someone took a sincere interest in revitalizing this place. meerimagination@yahoo.ca *many hugs*

It's sad when people lose interest in their creations and they come to an end. This site always provided a very special and unique music experience. I was hopeful at first when they returned to their former format but as time passed and the creators demonstrated a complete lack of interest in doing anything here, I felt it was only a matter of time before it ended. Everything and everyone requires nurturing. I will miss the music, musicians and special listeners such as yourself.

#3152 - Color Radio (just like your feathers) with "Sleep with the Lights on"

Something I haven't needed to do since I watched an extremely scary movie. Don't do that anymore. :-)
