Born in Istanbul, Yiğit (pronounced 'Yeat') introduced himself to music at 4 via mandolin. When he realized he was being obnoxious he took a break for a while and made a comeback with piano at 5th grade, which became his main instrument.
He studied 'Visual Communication Design' at the Istanbul Bilgi University. After graduation he was either going to further study film or music, and he decided to go towards 'music for film'. In 2008 he was admitted to Columbia College Chicago's 'Music Composition for the Screen' MFA program, where he had a chance to do some intensive work with industry professionals.
