Ester of Ashland

Formed in 2006, a duo of song-writers, Curtis Evans (Our Friends Electric) and Sarah Holtschlag formed Ester of Ashland. Meeting in the burgeoning song-writers' scene in Chicago, they formed a quick bond in their love for traditional American music.

Sorry for You, a collection of songs drawing on both of their diverse influences, was recorded with producer and engineer Tim Sandusky. The songs range from menacing (Tripwires) to traditional (Pretty Little Girl and Another Day) to sweet (Hot July). With rich harmonies and instrumentation, Ester of Ashland adds a few threads to the fabric of folk art.
