To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

Thank you for being a part of it.

Jak Locke is on a mission to see how many subgenres can be shoved under the "indie rock" umbrella. Taking a cue from eclectic artists like Beck and David Bowie, Jak experiments with injecting vastly different styles together and forcing them to coexist on the same setlist or album (sometimes the same song!)

Locke's recorded works have been described as "unapologetically original" (GulfCoastBands.com) and "more eclectic than switching radio stations constantly" (Wizerk.com).

Hey, I like your stuff. You're a true artist and I like the anti-pop styles that run through your work. It's going to be hard on such a poppy site like this. I support it.

I'm trying to heart only songs that have some similarities with the metal genre and some less popular genres. Check out my profile and support a group "Horns-Up" I'm trying to get on here with the hopes of getting this site to recognize that metal deserves its own genre.

Keep it up.

Interesting track that is indeed. Got some hearts on it for now and will drop a few more later as well. Thanx again for the heads up on these. Completely in awe from the guitar outro though. And the little organ bit in the midst of it really made it stick. Another great track indeed.

I'm on it and indeed, get the FB on it as well. Thank you for the heads up. I just walked in the door about 15 minutes after you posted it. So lucky I hit it right off.. I'll get a few more hearts on it as well after I scrounge a couple more up.

On the tune, nicely done indeed. I like the frantic feel it has in spots, makes it move along nicely. Indeed a rockin tune.

Ya, the new rules around here are killing some of us. This heart limit thing is a bummer. I would have max bumped that one with the old system but sadly we have to be conservative these days. I'll be back though for sure to listen and heart the rest as well. Feel free to let me know when you upload any new stuff. There is a small group of us that have a wider listening palette should I say, which includes the heavier fair such as your stuff.

Howdy Jak,
Glad to be of service. looks like it was enough to get you up a level. Sometimes it takes a while to get off the ground here. There are a few tracks around here that have been stuck in the basement for about four months.

I like the new track.
