To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

Thank you for being a part of it.

Whew! Things have been crazy with all the production work I did for the Nerdcore Now Volume 1 release. It got written up by Wired, Boing Boing, Comic Alliance, Hipster Please!, Nerdy Show, Geek Peek Post, and a ton of other folks.

Downloads are well over 10,000 in the first week with a crapload more from every torrent site in existence. The response has been so great and tons of folks are saying super encouraging things.

I just uploaded my two official contributions to the compilation: "Don't Panic"--my tribute to my favorite book series--and my chiptune remix of Random's introspective "Fly".

Download and enjoy both for free and be sure to check out the full compilation (also for free!!!) at NerdcoreNow.com!

It's that time again. "What time?" you ask, time for a NEW TRACK!!!

"Tough Guise" is a diss of this guy who calls himself Smoke1: Major League Spitterz. The beef began in the nerdcore hiphop room on stickam.com and the intro is a reinactment.

I took this incident as a cue to call out all the stuff that I hate about mainstream top 40 radio rap.

This track is also the debut of Melanie on the hook vocals. She's awesome. Expect to hear more of her in Klopfenpop tracks.

Enjoy the free download and tell your friends. ;)

Hey guys, the Beefy show got cancelled, but good news, NEW TRACK!!!

Check out a pre-release teaser track from my upcoming EP with Jake-bit, "The studio wants a rap song". It will be all chiptune flava'd covers of moderately lame movie rap songs. This one is T.U.R.T.L.E. Power featuring legendary nerdcore and underground emcee Random aka Megaran!

Sorry about not getting the show posted before it went down, but thanks for everyone who came out for the Suck Films anniversary with Beefy, Death*Star and Billy The Fridge. It was awesome!

If you missed it, be sure to come check out Beefy's show at the High Dive in Seattle, I'll be DJing live for his set. See you there!

Ensuring Seattle's delightfully nerdy reputation won't be soon forgotten, Klopfenpop combines elements of classic game system sound chips and drum samples (namely the NES, Gameboy, and Commodore 64) with fresh, live drum beats, hauntingly jazzy Rhodes piano, and angry synth sounds that cut through the monotony of life. The clear distinction here is the synergy of new with old, electronic with acoustic, digital with organic.
