Ryan and Anji are in the thick of writing and recording a new album for release later this year. The band have returned to a more electronica based sound but with plenty of organic elements, including some epic bluesy guitar work. And Anji's voice is sounding better than ever with a sweet new Neumann mic!

biography
Lovespirals began in late 1998 as an outgrowth of Love Spirals Downwards, the renowned Projekt Records recording project of multi-instrumentalist, Ryan Lum. Lum met sultry vocalist, Anji Bee, during promotions for his groundbreaking 1998 CD, 'Flux.' Bee was then working as a radio DJ and Music Director at a college radio station. The two hit it off and soon began collaborating on drum 'n' bass and downtempo remixes and singles.

Over the past decade, Lovespirals have explored myriad genres, combining elements of electronica, rock, folk, jazz, blues, and world music to create their own unique and sensual sound. To date, the band have released 3 full-length albums; 'Windblown Kiss' (2002), 'Free & Easy' (2005), 'Long Way From Home' (2007), 2 EPs; 'Ecstatic' (2000), 'Motherless Child' (2007), and numerous compilation tracks, including a remix of Claire Voyant for their 1999 CD, 'Time Again.'

Lovespirals' music has been featured on MTV, VH1, E!TV, ABC, the EW Network, and many other television and cable channels internationally. Both Lovespirals' and Love Spirals Downwards' music is available on iTunes, Rhapsody, Emusic, Amazon, CDBaby, and other online and in-store retailers wor... (+) expand

There's a new episode of THESIXTYONE.COM Fan Podcast out on my feed and on iTunes and you're on it!
This is the "Second State of Being Alive" edition of THESIXTYONE.COM Fan Podcast.

Do a fellow 61er a favor and click below to vote for my show. We finished March in first place but a couple of other independent music podcasts have apparently called out the troops and I'm losing ground to them in April. Sorry, to be a bother but it's a monthly thing and us podcasters need bumps too.
