biography
Distinguished by James Graham's heavy Scottish accent, an accordion, and oodles of noise, the Twilight Sad rose from Glasgow, Scotland, in late 2003 with the lineup of Graham (vocals), Andy MacFarlane (guitar, accordion), Craig Orzel (bass), and Mark Devine (drums). After playing a couple of shows in Glasgow that featured extensive pieces of music using an abundance of instruments, they holed up in the studio to write new material. In September 2005, with four new songs in hand, they sent a demo to Fat Cat. The label ended up putting them on the bill of a showcase with the Mutts, Charlottefield, the Rank Deluxe, and Frightened Rabbit. The Twilight Sad's debut EP was issued in the U.S. in November 2006; the full-length Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters arrived the following April. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, All Music Guide

i love love love this music. great songs and beautiful, lush-sounding production. it really inspires me to add more stuff to my own songs than just voice and guitar.

I saw you guys at Roskilde '07, you rock! I once heard your cover of Climbing Up The Walls, is there any chance you could stick that up? Cheers :)

Anyone else notice that the opening drum riff in "That Summer, At Home I Had Become The Invisible Boy" is the exact same riff as the one in "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs?

I just bought the album on iTunes (gift card for Christmas). So far, it's incredible and eclectic. I do have a soft spot for all things Scottish.

I adore these guys and will happily spend the majority of my points to bump them! Their songs make my heart ache, in a good way. A definite must listen.
