The flu virus, every year, is a constant presence in the daily lives of so many people. How to deal with it? At the point when the patient is a healthy person, the main thing to do is to wait for the symptoms to return. To make this happen relatively quickly, one can help oneself, of course after seeking the advice of one’s treating physician, with some natural remedies. Let’s find out the best ones in the next paragraph!

Hydration

It may seem trivial, but it still never hurts to remember: hydration is an unparalleled ally against flu symptoms, particularly those affecting the upper airways.

Premising the fact that, basically, the virus causes mild dehydration, let’s recall the fact that, by paying attention throughout the day to water intake, it is possible to appreciate an easier elimination of mucus.

Propolis

When suffering from flu, a good idea to fight the symptoms in a natural way is the intake of a propolis-based supplement. This resinous substance, harvested by bees from plant buds and their bark, is a panacea against annoying symptoms typical of the flu virus, for example, colds and sore throats.

Vinegar and water compresses

In situations where the temperature is feverish but still not excessive, to appreciate some relief it is advisable to make compresses of water and vinegar on the forehead, wrists and at the hollow of the elbow.

Chicken broth

Those fortunate enough to still have grandparents will no doubt have heard from them about chicken broth as one of the best home remedies for the flu. To what are its benefits due? Some attribute them to the steam rising from the hot broth dish, which helps clear the upper airways.

Some, on the other hand, call into question the energy boost given by the mix between the high temperature of the liquid and the presence of protein. Indeed, let’s not forget that excessive fatigue is another symptom that one may have to deal with in case of flu and is anything but pleasant to deal with.

Honey

Perfect for soothing coughs, another frequent symptom when you have the flu, and rich in valuable vitamins, honey should be used instead of sugar to sweeten drinks such as milk and coffee.

As many people know, the world of honeys is rich, to say the least. Among those most effective against afflictions typical of the cold months and flu symptoms such as burning throat is eucalyptus-based honey.

Rest

A more than natural and extremely effective remedy, rest, which we too often put on the back burner convinced that we have to achieve who knows what performance even if we are not in perfect health, allows the body to regain the right energy in a period that, as mentioned earlier, is also characterized by the onset of episodes of asthenia.

Marrubium mother tincture

A balsamic medicinal plant, horehound, or rather its mother tincture, is a real panacea during times when one is affected by the flu. How so? Because of its ability to promote thinning of mucus.

In cases of inflamed bronchi, moreover, it can provide immediate relief.

Suffumigi

By adding a few drops of mint essential oil to boiling water, suffumigation can be made that is very effective for the purpose of clearing obstructed upper airways.

Garlic

Properly minced and with the addition of a couple of teaspoons of honey, garlic in warm milk is a portentous natural remedy for the flu. Its benefits relate particularly to its ability to soothe coughs and disinfect the upper airways.

Erisimo

This plant, also known as crow grass, helps relieve sore throat, one of the symptoms of the flu.
